Dr. Frederick Foley is a Professor of Psychology at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. He holds a PhD from Fordham University (1986) and specializes in clinical diagnosis, cognitive therapy, family therapy, psychoneuroimmunology, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury. His office is located at the Resnick Campus Rousso Building, Room 107.
Research Interests: Dr. Foley’s work focuses on the intersection of psychological interventions and medical conditions, particularly multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury. He explores cognitive-behavioral approaches to clinical diagnosis and applies psychoneuroimmunology principles to understand mind-body interactions in chronic illnesses. His areas of expertise also include family therapy dynamics in managing chronic health issues.
Teaching: Recent courses include Concepts in Psychotherapy (PSH 6191), Doctoral Dissertation Planning (PSH/PSM 8931), and specialized courses on the Psychology of Multiple Sclerosis (PSH 6469/6470). These reflect his commitment to training future clinicians in evidence-based practices and research methodologies.
