Frank Riesner

Dr.-Ing. Frank Riesner is an Honorary Professor at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, specializing in fire protection planning within the Schools of Civil Engineering and Architecture. He holds a doctorate in engineering (1991) focused on structural fire and explosion protection, following civil engineering studies at Cottbus University of Engineering (1983–1987).

• Lecturer for fire protection at University of Rostock (1997–2006) and Wismar University (since 2004)
• Chairman of the Fire Protection Network/Competence Center for Construction Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (since 2006)
• Course leader in fire protection planning at Wismar University and MV Chamber of Architects and Engineers (since 2006)
• Lecturer at EIPOS/TU Dresden (since 2007)

His expertise includes creating fire protection concepts, examining certificates, and teaching fire safety standards. He contributes to industrial fire protection, timber construction safety, and legal compliance under German/European regulations.

Current roles involve testing engineering for fire protection and leadership in the Association for Preventive Fire Protection MV e.V. as 2nd Chairman (since 2012).
