Professor Francesca Morgante is Professor of Neurology and Eleonor Peel Chair for the study of Ageing at City St George's, University of London (formed from the merger of City, University of London and St George's, University of London on August 1, 2024). She serves as an honorary consultant neurologist at St George's University Hospital London where she leads the Advanced Movement Disorders Therapies Team.
Her research focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms of Movement Disorders including Parkinson's disease, Tremor Syndromes, and Dystonia. She is dedicated to translating this knowledge into developing novel invasive and non-invasive neuromodulation treatments. At City St George's, she leads the Movement Disorders research team and co-leads the Neuromodulation research group with Mr. Erlick Pereira.
Professor Morgante has published more than 180 papers in peer-reviewed journals and numerous book chapters focusing on Movement Disorders. She serves as one of the Associate Editors of Movement Disorders Journal and sits on the editorial boards of Movement Disorders, Movement Disorders Clinical Practice, European Journal of Neurology, and Journal of Neurology.
