Francesca Maria VIGO

Francesca Maria VIGO is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at the University of Catania, specializing in English Language, Translation, and Linguistics (SSD L-LIN/12). She holds a PhD in English and Anglo-American Studies and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Sheffield, along with a Diploma in Online Education and Training from the University of London and a Specialization Diploma in Social Communications from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan. She is actively involved in teaching first-year English language courses for undergraduate programs (L11, L20) and the first year of the Master’s program LM37, serving as the course coordinator and responsible instructor.

Her research interests include Translation Studies, Sociolinguistics, World Englishes, Gender and Language, Migration Studies, and English for Specific Purposes.
