Folashade Adeyemo is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Associate Dean for Globalisation at the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice. She joined in 2023 and previously held leadership roles at the University of Reading, including Director of Admissions and membership in internationalisation teams. Her research focuses on banking regulation, whistleblower protection, and financial/economic crime from a Global South perspective. She founded the Global South Dialogue on Economic Crime, hosting interdisciplinary initiatives like webinars on unexplained wealth and African whistleblowing frameworks.
Education: LLB, LLM, and PhD from the University of Westminster and Brunel University, London. She is also a Nigerian-qualified barrister. Teaching roles include modules on International Corporate Governance, Banking Law, and International Financial Crime at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Current modules include Commercial Law, Corporate Governance, and International Financial Crime (LLM).
Publications span banking regulation in Nigeria, comparative financial policies, and crypto-regulation. Recent works include monographs on African banking systems and edited volumes on bank insolvency in developing economies. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Economic Criminology and is an external PhD examiner in multiple jurisdictions.
