Fiona Robson

Professor Fiona Robson serves as Head of the School of Social Sciences and Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. She oversees academic quality assurance, program delivery, and faculty leadership across four departments. Her roles include membership on the Dubai Executive Committee and global School of Social Sciences Executive Board.

Dr. Robson specializes in Human Resource Management, focusing on nurse retention in healthcare systems, expatriate motivation in international industries, and qualitative research challenges in the Middle East. Her research spans organizational behavior, training effectiveness, and workforce management strategies. Notable studies include investigations into NHS nurse turnover, Qatar's civil engineering expatriate recruitment, and participatory learning models for international students.

She holds dual fellowships: Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Academic Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Her professional contributions include articles on workplace absence management, podcasting in education, and performance management systems.
