Filipa Calado

Filipa Calado is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information at Pratt Institute, where she teaches courses in programming, data science, and critical approaches to technology. Her research lies at the intersection of digital humanities, queer theory, and computational linguistics, focusing on how AI and machine learning encode and reproduce biases related to gender, sexuality, and identity.

She has presented her work at major conferences including ADHO, MLA, and ASAP, and delivered keynotes on topics such as impostor syndrome and open knowledge in AI.
