Fidalis Buehler

Fidalis Buehler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art at Brigham Young University (BYU), serving as the Drawing Coordinator in the foundations program and head of figure drawing/painting disciplines. He is a full-time faculty member in the Studio division, with a focus on teaching painting, drawing, and advanced studio courses.

He holds an MFA from BYU (2007). His professional engagements include co-directing a study abroad program to France/UK and leading field study programs in New York City. His artistic work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with notable shows at Gallery Protocol (Gainesville, FL), NorthArt Center (Auckland), CUAC (Salt Lake City), and institutions like the University of Minnesota and Rutgers University. His work has also been featured in publications by Duke University Press and New American Paintings.

Buehler’s research and creative practice emphasize figure studies, contemporary painting techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches to studio art education. His teaching and coordination roles reflect a commitment to foundational art education and fostering student creativity through immersive academic and international experiences.
