Fernando Bayon Martin is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Leisure Studies within the University of Deusto’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. He earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Deusto in 2002 and has held visiting scholar roles at prestigious institutions such as the Universities of Tübingen, Heidelberg, Cambridge, Princeton, and Yale, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship at CSIC in Madrid.

His research spans the intersection of Philosophy of Art, Cultural Narratives, and Critical Analysis of Artistic Languages in political contexts during Late Modernity, with a focus on contemporary architecture, European/American literature, musical drama, opera, and audiovisuals. This work extends beyond aesthetics to explore historical/political performances and their influence on Social Memory Frameworks.
He has coordinated research projects funded by competitive calls, including PUBLICUM (2018, Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness), Imagineering urban spaces in waterfronts (University of Deusto & Fordham University), and Creativity Peer Reviewing (Institute of Leisure Studies & ENCATC). His publications include over 100 indexed papers and two books: La prohibición del amor (2004) and Filosofía y Leyenda (2009).
