About
Dr. Fengjie Wu is a research group leader at the Biozentrum of the University of Basel, Switzerland, where she heads the Cell receptor dynamics and signaling group. Her laboratory focuses on revealing the conformational dynamics of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their coupling to G proteins at atomic resolution, employing state-of-the-art NMR spectroscopy.
Research Interests
- GPCR structural dynamics and activation mechanisms
- Real-time observation of ligand-receptor-transducer interactions
- Development of innovative NMR methodologies akin to a “GPS” for miniature protein systems
- Rational drug design targeting GPCRs with improved specificity and safety
By integrating advanced NMR techniques and complementary biophysical approaches, Dr. Wu aims to bridge the gap between static high-resolution GPCR structures and their functional behavior in living cells, thereby facilitating next-generation therapeutic development.
Current PhD Student
