Dr. Federica Sulas is an archaeologist specializing in geoarchaeology and landscape historical ecology in sub-Saharan Africa. She is affiliated with the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge and contributes to the Cambridge Global Food Security interdisciplinary research center.

Research Focus:
Her work explores ancient resource practices, particularly water and food management systems, through fieldwork in Ethiopia, Tanzania, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Sardinia. Current projects include:
- Long-term water security and ecosystem services at Great Zimbabwe
- Urban transition resource landscapes in Zanzibar
- Iron Age landscapes in SW Zambia
