Fatima Esseili

Fatima Esseili is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Colorado Denver and serves as the Director of the ESL Academy. With over 15 years of experience in Second Language Studies, she has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in national and international contexts including China, Lebanon, Mexico, Qatar, and the UAE.

Her research focuses on:

• Second language writing and assessment
• World Englishes (language policy and politics of English)
• Intercultural rhetoric
• Intelligibility in multilingual environments
