Farshid Alambeigi is an Assistant Professor in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where he directs the Advanced Robotic Technologies for Surgery (ARTS) Lab. He is a core faculty member of Texas Robotics. His research focuses on developing high-dexterity continuum manipulators, soft robots, and intelligent surgical systems for minimally invasive medical applications. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics from Johns Hopkins University. Alambeigi has received prestigious awards, including the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award (2022) and the NIH NIBIB Trailblazer Career Award (2020). His work bridges robotics, biomedical engineering, and surgery, with collaborations at the UT Dell Medical School.
Education: Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (2019 and 2017).
