Farrukh Baig

Farrukh Baig serves as a Lecturer at the Department of City and Regional Planning, University of Management and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, while completing graduate studies at Central South University, China (2020-2025). He holds professional recognition as an Associate member of the American Society of Civil Engineering's Safety Committee, reflecting his transportation safety expertise.

Dr. Baig's research centers on critical urban mobility challenges, with primary focus areas including Road Safety, Transport Planning, Urban Planning, Travel Behavior and Health, and Autonomous/Connected Vehicle systems. His work uniquely addresses developing-world contexts through Lahore-based case studies examining smog impacts on travel behavior, barriers to electric vehicle adoption, and public acceptance of smart transportation solutions. This Pakistan-China research nexus combines engineering analysis with behavioral science to tackle sustainable mobility challenges.

2025 has been exceptionally productive with five publications spanning transportation engineering, mathematical physics, and environmental science. His output demonstrates strong interdisciplinary range—from modeling chemotaxis on fractal terrains in Physical Review E to urban policy analysis in Journal of Urban Planning and Development—while maintaining consistent focus on real-world transportation problems in Global South contexts.
