Farnoosh Fathi is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Barnard College, Columbia University. She holds a PhD from the University of Houston and an MFA from New York University. Her creative work includes poetry collections Great Guns (Canarium, 2013) and Granny Cloud (NYRB Poets, 2024), alongside editing Joan Murray: Drafts, Fragments, and Poems (NYRB Poets, 2018). She is founder of the Young Artists Language and Devotion Alliance (YALDA), dedicated to fostering creative writing among young artists.
Her research and creative practice intersect cultural identity, poetic form, and literary preservation. Fathi’s work often explores themes of Iranian-American identity, urban experiences, and multigenerational narratives. She resides and teaches in New York City.
