Fabien Van Geert

Fabien Van Geert is a Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Barcelona and coordinator of the Master's degree in World Heritage and Cultural Projects for Development. He holds a degree in Art History from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve and a doctorate in Cultural and Heritage Management from the University of Barcelona.

His research focuses on multiculturalism in ethnological museums, immigration representation in cultural institutions, and the redefinition of rurality through heritage studies. He contributes to academic discourse on colonial museum renovation and heritage policies.

Scientific awards include a grant from the Catalan Autonomous Government. He has collaborated on museum activities, served as curator for two national exhibitions, and is involved with the research group 'Heritage and redefinition of rurality. New uses of local heritage', funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
