Riccardo Turati is a Serra Hunter Assistant Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona's Department of Applied Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain (2020). His research focuses on international migration, globalization's socio-political impacts, and cultural economics. He is an international fellow at the Institut Convergences Migration and a corresponding member of IRES (UCLouvain).
Key projects include the RURALITIC initiative (2025–2028) exploring rural revival strategies and Roots, Assimilation and Culture (2024–2027) analyzing immigrant integration factors. He also contributed to studies on demographic challenges and public policies (Social and Territorial Cohesion, 2022–2025) and cultural fracture among immigrants in Barcelona (2022).
