Fabien Lévy is Professor of Composition at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig. He studied composition with Gérard Grisey at Paris Conservatoire and holds a PhD in musicology from EHESS. Previously taught at Columbia University (2006-2012), Hochschule für Musik Hanns-Eisler Berlin (2004-2006), and Sorbonne University.
His compositions are published by Billaudot and Ricordi Germany, performed globally by ensembles including Ensemble Modern and Tokyo Philharmonic. Awards include the DAAD Berliner Künstlerprogramm residency (2001) and Ernst von Siemens Förderpreis (2004).
