Evelyn R. Micelotta is an Associate Professor and holder of the Steven Grossman Endowed Chair in Family Business at the University of Vermont’s Grossman School of Business. She previously held the Desmarais Professorship in Family Business at the University of Ottawa, Canada. Her research focuses on institutional processes and cultural dynamics in entrepreneurial firms, family enterprises, and professional service firms. She holds dual PhDs: in Strategic Management and Organization from the University of Alberta (Canada) and in Management Engineering from Milan Polytechnic (Italy).

Her research interests center on organizational embeddedness in institutional environments. She has published in top-tier journals like Journal of Management, Organization Studies, and Family Business Review. She authored a book in the Cambridge Elements series on family firms and serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Family Business Review and Senior Editor of Organization Studies.
Awards include the JMS Karen Legge Prize (2018) and multiple reviewer accolades. She teaches strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship across undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs. As an FFI Fellow and Certified Advisor, she advocates for family business education and practice.
