Eva Vernooij

Dr. Eva Vernooij is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences at Utrecht University, affiliated with the Social Policy and Public Health department under the Chair de Wit.

• PhD in Medical Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam
• Postdoctoral research at the University of Edinburgh

Her research focuses on ethnographic studies of medical technologies, public health policies, and social interventions across cultural contexts, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. She specializes in:

• Everyday diagnostic practices (Sierra Leone)
• Qualitative, multidisciplinary, participatory, and mixed methods research
