Dr. Ashley Grosso is a Visiting Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She holds a PhD in Public Administration from Rutgers University and an MS in Nonprofit Management from The New School.

Dr. Grosso’s research focuses on HIV prevention among high-risk populations, particularly adolescent key populations in sub-Saharan Africa (e.g., youth who sell sex, young men who have sex with men) and policy analysis of school-based sex education in the United States. She also explores Photovoice as an intervention to reduce stigma toward LGBTQ+ communities and people living with HIV. Her recent publications examine STI risks among underage sex workers, structural determinants of HIV transmission, and stigma measurement frameworks in West Africa.
Her work spans epidemiology, health policy, and community-based participatory research, with methodological expertise in cross-sectional surveys, structural equation modeling, and qualitative assessment. She has conducted field research in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Eswatini, Lesotho, Togo, and New York City.
