Eva Struble is an Associate Professor in the Department of Painting and Printmaking at San Diego State University (SDSU). She holds an MFA in painting from Yale University. Her work explores landscape through social, environmental, and personal histories, employing oil, acrylic, screen-printing, and textile media on 2D and 3D surfaces.
Recent projects focus on Southern California botany, ethnobotany, and the intersection of landscape and the body. Her exhibitions include shows at Meta (Facebook) in Burlingame, the Wassaic Project (NY), Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, and upcoming 2023 solo exhibit at the Athenaeum Arts and Music Library Gallery in La Jolla. Residencies include Vermont Studio Center, Headlands Center for the Arts, and Andratx Cultural Center in Mallorca.
Her work has been featured in Art in America, The Village Voice, and San Diego Union Tribune. Public commissions include projects for Palo Alto and San Diego cities.
