Eva-Liisa Linder

Eva-Liisa Linder (b. 1978) is a theatre researcher affiliated with the Drama School of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre since 2001, where she serves as a researcher and lecturer on Estonian theatre and academic writing. She concurrently pursues doctoral studies in the Institute of Humanities at Tallinn University while maintaining an MA in theatre studies from the University of Tartu (2010).

Her research focuses on contemporary Estonian theatre through the lens of public sphere theory, ethics, and nationalism, framed by Frankfurt School critical theory. Key interests include analyzing theatrical practices that intersect with political discourse and civic engagement, particularly examining how performance constructs national identity and democratic processes.

Publications emphasize critical analysis of Estonian theatre’s societal role, including case studies of institutions like Theatre NO99. Her work bridges academic scholarship with practical pedagogy, contributing to both conference organization and edited volumes in the field.
