Eva Castro is a Teaching Professor at the School of Architecture and Sustainable Design (AS+D) at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). She currently coordinates Core Studio 2 and co-leads the Advanced Option Studio on Landscape Urbanism. Previously, she held roles as Director of the Landscape Urbanism Unit at Tsinghua University in Beijing, Visiting Professor at the Architectural Association in London (teaching since 2003), and visiting roles at HKU and Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. She co-founded GroundLab and Plasma Studio, firms recognized for projects like the Xi’an Horticultural Expo and the Longgang City masterplan. Her research focuses on Architecture Design, Sustainable Design Science, Urban Planning, and Landscape Urbanism.
Education: Undergraduate and graduate studies in Architecture and Urbanism at Universidad Central de Venezuela (1987–1993), followed by a Graduate Design Diploma at the Architectural Association (1994–1996). She has been awarded the Next Generation Architects Award, Young Architect of the Year, and multiple exhibition recognitions. Her work explores computational urbanism, adaptive city planning, and the intersection of architecture with natural systems.
