Eugene Lewit, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Lecturer in Stanford University's Department of Health Policy. A health economist by training, his research examines implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its impacts on children and families. Previously, he managed grant programs at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation (1991-2013), focusing on children's healthcare quality and insurance coverage initiatives.
Lewit pioneered efforts to expand children's health insurance through California's County Children's Health Initiatives and co-founded key organizations like the National Institute for Children's Health Care Quality. His current research evaluates healthcare access disparities and policy effectiveness in vulnerable populations.
