Ethan Pack

Ethan Pack is a Lecturer in the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His academic focus spans Modern Arabic and Hebrew literature, Post-Colonial Theory, Film/Visual Culture, and Jewish/Middle Eastern Studies. He holds a B.A. from Columbia University (2008), an M.A. and Ph.D. from UCLA (2012, 2018).

Current courses include Israel/Palestine on Screen, Survey of Literature: Middle Ages to 17th Century, and Israel as Seen Through Its Literature. His research explores intersections between migration, mysticism, and media, with recent work on Israeli civil democracy narratives and Hebrew literature’s role in state formation.
