Esther Boucher-Yip is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Humanities & Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She holds multiple leadership roles including Associate Head of Department and Director of the Bangkok and London Humanities and Arts Project Centers. With a doctorate in Applied Linguistics & TESOL from the University of Leicester (2005), she brings over two decades of international teaching experience across Malaysia, Singapore, China, Laos, the UK, and the US.
Her research focuses on English language teaching methodologies, minority language maintenance, and the impact of language policies on indigenous communities. She has co-edited scholarly works on teacher agency and pedagogical practices. Notable recognitions include the 2021 WPI Trustees' Award for Outstanding Teaching and Chartered Linguist status.
