Estelle Choi is an Associate Professor of Cello at the University of Delaware's School of Music, part of the College of Arts & Sciences. She is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Calidore String Quartet, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020. The quartet has received widespread acclaim for its virtuosity and dramatic artistry, winning major awards such as the M-Prize and Avery Fisher Grant.
- Education: Studied with John Kadz in Calgary, Aldo Parisot at Yale School of Music, and Ronald Leonard at Colburn Conservatory.
Her research interests focus on chamber music performance, cello pedagogy, and collaboration. With the Calidore Quartet, she emphasizes artistic innovation and interdisciplinary work. Teaching roles include positions at the University of Houston and current instruction at the University of Delaware in cello performance and chamber music.
