Erna MacLeod

Erna MacLeod serves as Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at Cape Breton University, where she oversees research administration and graduate academic programs across the institution.

As a senior academic leader, Dr. MacLeod manages research support services, grant facilitation, and graduate student supervision frameworks. Her role involves strategic development of research initiatives while maintaining connections with Mi'kmaw communities given CBU's location in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaw People.

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies under her leadership coordinates research ethics compliance, interdisciplinary collaborations, and knowledge mobilization efforts across Cape Breton University's various academic units.
