Erin Jacques is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics & Biostatistics at York College, City University of New York (CUNY). She previously held roles as an Assistant Professor at William Paterson University (2022-2023) and a Substitute Doctoral Lecturer in Community Health at York College (2022). Jacques holds an EdD in Public Health Education & Promotion from Teachers College, Columbia University (2022), an MA in Health Education (2021), an MS in Education Entrepreneurship (2018), and a BA in Psychology (2002).
Her research focuses on public health communication, health disparities, and digital media analysis, with a focus on racial equity, pandemic response, and environmental health. She has published extensively on topics such as TikTok content related to racial discrimination against Asians during the pandemic, health literacy post-COVID-19, and HPV vaccination awareness on social media. Her work also examines immigration status and health information-seeking behavior among undergraduates and environmental health risks linked to Superfund sites.
Academic service includes roles on York College’s Curriculum Committee (2023–2024) and Hiring Committee (2023–2024). Jacques teaches courses such as Epidemiology for Public Health Practice, Sex and Sexuality, and Health, Communities, & Society. She is developing new courses in public health and informatics.
