Erin DeBell

Erin DeBell serves as a Senior Instructor in the World Languages Department of the College of Arts & Sciences at Queens University of Charlotte. She holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and possesses a certificate in business Spanish, reflecting her dedication to language education and professional application.

Her educational qualifications include:

• B.A. in Spanish, University of North Carolina at Charlotte

DeBell's professional expertise spans Translation Studies, Cross-Cultural Communication, and Business Spanish. Having lived in Ecuador and Colombia and studied at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, she brings practical international experience to her teaching. She is a qualified level C court interpreter with the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts and has worked on federal criminal investigations requiring Spanish-English transcription. Her research interests include social media marketing in multilingual contexts and methodology in translation standards, as evidenced by her graduate thesis and conference presentation at the 23rd Annual CATI Conference.

She is actively pursuing level A court interpreter certification and emphasizes the practical role of foreign languages in both personal and professional spheres, particularly through teaching Spanish for specific professions.
