Erin Cameron

Erin Cameron is Assistant Professor of Clarinet at Arkansas State University, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Communication, Department of Music in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She is an active clarinetist, composer, and educator with a strong presence in the contemporary music scene.

Her research and artistic interests center on new music, solo and chamber repertoire, and works by underrepresented composers. She is a founding member of Bantam Winds, an all-female chamber ensemble dedicated to innovative programming and international performance outreach. Her performance career includes over 40 world and regional premieres, and she has been featured at major festivals such as the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest, the International Music by Women Festival, and the Darkwater Womxn in Music Festival.

Her recent publications and recordings reflect her deep engagement with avant-garde and contemporary clarinet repertoire. She has contributed scholarly work to The Clarinet magazine and its online counterpart, and appears on albums released by Wandelweiser Records and GIA Publications.

Dr. Cameron has taught at the Arkansas Governor’s School, The Walden School, and served as a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas. She mentors emerging musicians and is regularly invited as a guest artist and clinician across the United States. Her work bridges performance, scholarship, and education, contributing significantly to the advancement of clarinet artistry in the 21st century.

She is a founding member of Bantam Winds, an all-female chamber ensemble based in Jonesboro, Arkansas, which focuses on expanding the repertoire for winds and promoting works by underrepresented composers on international stages.
