Erin Bass is a Professor and the James R. Schumacher Chair of Ethics in the Department of Management at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) College of Business Administration. She joined UNO in 2014 and holds a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research focuses on strategic management, corporate ethics, sustainability, and organizational dynamics in high-hazard industries. She has published extensively in top-tier journals such as Academy of Management Review and Journal of Management Studies.
Dr. Bass teaches courses in corporate strategy, business ethics, and global consulting at both MBA and Executive MBA levels. Her work bridges academia and practice, addressing challenges in multinational enterprises, microfinance, and healthcare leadership. She serves on editorial boards for Management Decision and Psychology of Leaders and Leadership, and as a Faculty Fellow at the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute. Her research emphasizes ethical decision-making, dynamic capabilities, and institutional logics in complex organizational contexts.
Key service roles include Board President of Heart Heroes and Business Strategist for the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE). Her recent work explores PsyCap’s role in new venture growth, energy transition strategies, and distributed leadership in healthcare. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates insights from psychology, ethics, and strategic management to address global challenges such as resource security and organizational resilience.
