Erika Orrick is a part-time Lecturer II in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. She holds an MS in Cognitive Human Factors from The Ohio State University (2001) and a BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University (1998).
Her research focuses on human-computer interaction, user experience design, healthcare technology usability, and human error analysis. She has extensive experience in UX research for mission-critical systems, particularly in healthcare IT and aviation. Her work emphasizes integrating user-centered design with regulatory processes.
She has published on usability testing in healthcare systems and maintains affiliations with the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. Teaching interests include hybrid course delivery and micro-credentials. Previously served as Adjunct Faculty at San Jose State University's iSchool (2022).
