Erica Shannon is an Assistant Professor of History at Talladega College, where she also serves as an Academic Advisor for the School of Humanities and Fine Arts and a Junior Class Advisor for the Student Government Association. She teaches courses on African American History, the Civil Rights Movement, and Ancient Civilizations.
Dr. Shannon holds a Bachelor's in History from Talladega College, two Master's degrees (Early Childhood Education and History Education) from Grand Canyon University, and is pursuing a PhD in History at Liberty University (expected 2026).
Her research interests focus on historical education and the intersection of African American history with broader global historical narratives. She is a member of the Organization of American Historians.
