Eric W. Rothenbuhler

Eric W. Rothenbuhler serves as Dean of the School of Communications and Professor at Webster University's St. Louis Main Campus. Previously, he held leadership roles including Associate Dean at Ohio University's Scripps College of Communication (2010-2012), Director of Media Studies at New School University (2001-2004), and faculty positions at University of Iowa (1985-2001) and Texas A&M University (2004-2010).

His research centers on Media Anthropology, Media History, and Communication Systems, examining ritual frameworks, community dynamics, and media industry structures. He maintains specialized focus on sonic dimensions of communication, with recurring investigations into music culture, sound production, and radio as cultural artifacts.
