Hon. Eric R. Fleming is an Adjunct Professor (part-time) at the University of San Francisco. He currently serves as a San Francisco Superior Court judge and previously held roles including Chief Trial Attorney at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, managing homicide and gang units. He practiced as an attorney at Cooley Godward in Los Angeles and earlier served as a police officer. He externed under Judges Saundra Brown Armstrong and Martin Jenkins.
Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from USF School of Law (1995); Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Tulane University (1989).
Expertise focuses on Criminal Law and Evidence. Awards include the 2019 Distinguished Service Award from the National Black Prosecutor's Association and the 2018 San Francisco District Attorney's Leadership Award.
Professional roles include membership on the San Francisco Superior Court Executive Committee and the Criminal Law Section of The California State Bar. He also serves on the San Francisco Public Housing Authority Commission.
