Danny Chou is a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and currently serves as a Justice on the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division Five (appointed 2023). He previously served as a San Mateo County Superior Court Judge (2018–2023), handling civil, appellate, and criminal cases. His legal career includes roles as Chief of Appellate Litigation for the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, Assistant County Counsel for Santa Clara County, and judicial clerkships at federal and state courts. Chou initiated the San Mateo Superior Court’s Community Outreach Committee to bridge judicial systems with local communities.
