Eric Boyer

Eric Boyer is a Professor in the School of Business & Social Sciences at Colby-Sawyer College. He joined the faculty in 2008 after serving as a lecturer at the University of Minnesota and adjunct lecturer at Saint Thomas University. His areas of expertise span American studies, government, history, philosophy, and violence.

Research Focus:

• Political theory (history of political thought, ideologies, American political thought, Marx/democratic theory)
• Comparative politics (sociopolitical change, democratic transitions, African politics)
• Pop culture pedagogy (using media like The Walking Dead for political analysis)

Education:

• Ph.D. in political science from the University of Minnesota
• B.A. in political science and philosophy from Indiana University of Pennsylvania
