Eoin White

Dr. Eoin White is an Associate Professor at the School of Design, University of Limerick. With expertise spanning human factors research, medical device development, and user-centered design methodologies, he bridges academic innovation with industry applications through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Research focuses on qualitative methodologies for enhancing medical device design, with special emphasis on:

• Clinical evaluation and regulatory compliance
• Ethnographic studies in surgical environments
• Rapid prototyping for surgical tools
• Ethical product lifecycle management

Recent publications analyze cardiovascular device design (2024), surgical grasp taxonomy (2023), and gender dynamics in STEM education (2023). His work contributes to SDGs in healthcare technology and educational equity.

As principal investigator, he has secured €2.5M in research funding from IRC, Seedcorn, Enterprise Ireland, and Horizon 2020 grants. He supervises PhD candidates in human factors and medical device development while serving as design and regulatory lead in two university spin-out companies.
