Dr. Enaiê Mairê Azambuja is a PhD Researcher at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the School of Literature & Languages under the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (2021), an MA in English Literature (2015), and a BA in English and Portuguese Languages and Literatures (2012).
- Research focus: Ecocriticism, Ecopoetics, Zen Buddhism, and New Materialism
- Teaching: Seminar Tutor for Understanding Poetry (ELI1021) since 2019
Her research reinterprets early-20th-century U.S. poets (William Carlos Williams, Marianne Moore, Wallace Stevens, E. E. Cummings) through Zen Buddhist and New Materialist frameworks, exploring intersections of spirituality and environmentalism. She has presented at international conferences, including the Seventh International Symposium on Literature and Environment in East Asia (2021) and ASLE-UKI Biennial Conference (2019).
Current academic memberships include the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (UK and Ireland). Her peer-reviewed publications analyze topics such as material ecopoetics, cosmological frameworks in Modernist poetry, and spatial theory in Irish literature.
