Elin Käck

Elin Käck serves as Assistant Professor in the Department for Language, Culture and Interaction at Linköping University's Department of Culture and Society (IKOS). Her academic career demonstrates significant progression from PhD completion in 2015 to achieving Docent (Associate Professor) status in 2021, with ongoing scholarly contributions across multiple domains of literary studies.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Language and Culture from Linköping University (2015), Master's degrees in Literary Studies and English (2006), and an Upper Secondary School Teacher's Degree (2007). She has held administrative positions including Director of Doctoral Studies at IKOS (2021–present) and previously served as Director of Studies for Literary Studies (2020–2021).

Käck's research focuses on poetry and poetics with particular emphasis on the relationship between literature and place. Her work spans American and European literary history, avant-garde aesthetics, and the history of ideas. Current major projects include 'Europe and the Development of American Poetry' examining transatlantic influences on American poetry, and 'Poets in Higher Education' exploring the interaction between artistic and academic knowledge. Her upcoming monograph 'Constructions of Europe in Modern American Poetry' will be published by Edinburgh University Press in 2025.

Her publication record demonstrates consistent scholarly output across multiple subfields including modernist poetry, ecopoetics, and literary didactics, with recent work examining authors like William Carlos Williams, H.D., Siri Hustvedt, and Eva Ström through innovative theoretical frameworks.

Käck serves as Vice President of The William Carlos Williams Society and is editing 'Approaches to Teaching the Poetry and Prose of William Carlos Williams' for MLA. She supervises four doctoral students while teaching courses including British Literature in Historical Context, The History of Modern Literature, and her recently developed online course Creative Writing and Reading. She has presented research at major conferences including MLA conventions and specialized events on Black Mountain College and Marianne Moore.
