Emma Rasiel is the Richard Y. Li Professor of the Practice and Associate Chair in the Department of Economics at Duke University, where she also serves as Director of the Duke Financial Economics Center. She holds a PhD in Finance from Duke University (2003), an MBA from the Wharton School (1990), and a BA in Mathematics from Oxford University (1986). Her academic roles include curriculum development for undergraduate finance programs, directing the Duke in London study-away program, and co-leading the Master of Engineering in FinTech program at Duke's Pratt School of Engineering. Her teaching focuses on Behavioral Finance, Practical Financial Markets, and Asset Pricing. She has advised Duke's Investment Club and Business Society since 2008. Recognitions include being named one of Newsweek's 'Great College Professors' in 2009. Her research spans behavioral finance, healthcare economics, and financial markets, with notable publications addressing drug development economics and risk management frameworks.
