Emma A Jane

Dr. Emma A. Jane is an Associate Professor in the School of the Arts & Media at UNSW Sydney. Her research focuses on the social and ethical implications of emerging technologies, particularly online misogyny, cyberbullying, and digital mobs. She holds a PhD and has authored nine books, including the acclaimed Misogyny Online. Her work spans interdisciplinary fields like philosophy, media studies, and feminist theory.

• Awards: Anne Dunn Scholar of the Year (2016), DECRA (2014–2017), Commonwealth Writers’ Prize (1997).
• Teaching: Convenor of Media Portfolio (MDIA3003) and former lecturer in media writing and reporting.
• Grants: Over AUD$372,000 from ARC DECRA and multiple internal grants.
