About
Dr. Jessica Lee is an ARC DECRA Fellow and Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Psychology, University of New South Wales (UNSW). She serves as co-convenor for the Australian Learning Group (ALG), represents Psychology on the Science Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group, and is a member of the Psychology Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on understanding how humans learn and generalize simple associations, with a particular emphasis on the interaction between low-level associative processes and higher-order reasoning mechanisms. Key areas include predictive learning, causal inference, generalization gradients, and the role of perception in cognitive flexibility.
Scientific Awards:
- Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (ARC DECRA)
- 2022 Association for Psychological Science Rising Star
- 2020 Dean's Staff Excellence Award (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion)
Grants: She holds the ARC DECRA grant (DE210100292) valued at AUD$380,868, focused on individual differences in associative generalization.
Publications Trends: Her recent work explores the neural and cognitive mechanisms of generalization, punishment insensitivity, and causal reasoning. She investigates how predictive learning interacts with perceptual memory and rule-based generalization, contributing to fields like behavioral neuroscience and psychopharmacology.
