Emily Westkaemper is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at James Madison University. She holds a Ph.D. in U.S. History from Rutgers University. Her research focuses on gender and consumer culture, working women’s activism, and twentieth-century feminisms, with notable publications like *Selling Women's History* (2017). She teaches courses in U.S. history, women’s studies, and historical research methods.
Dr. Westkaemper has received numerous grants and fellowships, including the Alvin Achenbaum Travel Grant (2019) and the Smith College Travel-to-Collections Grant (2006, 2018). She has presented at major conferences such as the Berkshire Conference on the History of Women and the American Historical Association Annual Meeting. Her service roles include membership in the JMU Faculty Senate and the Cohen Center for the Humanities Advisory Board.
