Emily Knippa, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Breast Imaging Division. She joined the faculty in 2013 after serving as a radiologist and locum radiologist across North Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. Dr. Knippa holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Princeton University and a medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, where she completed her radiology residency and breast imaging fellowship.
Her research focuses on advancing imaging techniques for breast cancer detection, including positron emission mammography and optimizing non-contrast MRI methods. She also investigates strategies for managing probably benign and high-risk breast lesions. Dr. Knippa’s clinical expertise spans diagnostic radiology with a specialization in breast imaging.
