Emily C. Krauter

Emily C. Krauter is an Assistant Professor of German at Furman University's Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, where she has taught since 2020. She holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA from the University of Mississippi, and a BA from Indiana University.

• Focuses on second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and study abroad efficacy
• Specializes in marginalized German dialects, Kiezdeutsch, and language attitudes in the Grimms’ fairytales
