Dr. Emily Ashton is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of New Brunswick. She holds a PhD (2020) from University of Victoria, MEd (2011) and BEd (2004) from UNB, and BA (2002) from UNB.
Research explores early childhood education through critical theoretical lenses including environmental humanities and speculative fiction. Her monograph Anthropocene Childhoods examines racialization and climate crisis narratives. Current projects investigate spatial curriculum design and decolonizing early childhood education.
