Emilio Padilla Rosa is a Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), affiliated with the Economia Ecològica (ECONECOL) research group. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UAB (2001), an MSc in Environmental Economics from the University of East Anglia (1998), and a Master's in Applied Economics from UAB (1997). His research focuses on climate change economics, environmental policies, CO2 emissions, and energy transition dynamics. He has led numerous research projects, including the ongoing 'ECONOMIC ACTIVITY, CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES' (2022–2025), funded by various national and international grants. His work addresses topics such as carbon taxation, intergenerational equity, and the socio-economic impacts of environmental policies. He has supervised over a dozen theses and contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives in ecological economics.
